Happy Birthday to Me!

Here are a few things you can do to celebrate my birthday today!

The Fabric Flea Market – at the Glebe Community Centre from 10:00 to 2:00. All proceeds go to Cambridge Public School. Admission $2. Lots of bargains on fabric, yarn, patterns, buttons and other needlework supplies.

Grand opening of the Daily Grind Art Cafe! All-day party featuring free samples, coffee, art kits and more at 601 Somerset St West in Ottawa, Ontario. Bring the kids, enjoy some organic, fair-traded, bird-friendly coffee, and check out the art and craft menu. While you sip your coffee and wait for your lunch, you and your little friends can experiment and play with pastels, or watercolours.

Kiss a Grouch. It’s National Grouch Day.

Occupy Ottawa. Come to Confederation Park on Elgin Street at noon. Stuff is happening. I don’t know what exactly, but it seems like it’s THE place to be today.

Or you could celebrate my birthday by using this lousy weather as a good excuse for staying home and doing exactly what you feel like doing.

I’m going to try to do ALL these things today. And GC has promised to make me blueberry pancakes for dinner. Not only that, but he claims he and the birds have been practicing singing Happy Birthday to You all week, and they’re going to perform it this afternoon for me. I’ll videotape it for you.
