The problem is, I seem to have lost my blogging mojo. I think it’s a casualty of depression. Normally I go through my days with what I call my “blogger’s eye” wide open. It’s a way of seeing the world, a way of discovering bloggable things in even the most mundane of days. But these [...] The decluttering continues. Broken lamps. A scrapbook of newspaper articles about deformed baby chimpanzees and children raised in dungeons. Holographic guitars. Things that only work with obsolete technology. Shoes of babies I’ve never met. Veterinarian records for pets that died decades ago. Meanwhile, life goes on. I’ve been reading and knitting and baking. We drove [...] It was a year ago today that the Bank Street Bully incident happened. The ensuing police investigation fizzled out and, as far as I can tell, there were no real consequences to Constable Eric Post. But I like to think that the blog post was a consequence. The story got around. And now, one year [...] I can’t think of anything to write about today, so I’m inviting your suggestions, ideas and questions. It’s time for the Canadian Blog Awards again! The first round of voting is now underway and continues until December 12th. Thanks very much to the kind reader who nominated Knitnut.net for Best Personal Blog, and to the nominators of three of my posts for Best Blog Post ! These are: Bank Street Bully Back when I used to watch the Young and the Restless (yes, I did, for years!), I participated on a Y&R discussion board that also had an off-topic board attached to it, where you could talk about stuff like politics and the Iraq war and religion and abortion and all kinds of fun controversial flame-war [...] My blogiversary snuck past me! I launched Knitut.net on October 11th, 2005. I like to celebrate its birthday every year by taking a little statistical snapshot and highlighting any highlights from the previous year. As of October 11th, 2009, there were 1013 posts on Knitnut.net, and 9458 comments. # of POSTS 1. The Ebay auction for the Great Big Zucchini in the Little Wee Bikini is ending today around noon. There have been four bids so far, with the current bid standing at $2.22. People! At $1.79 a pound, this zucchini is worth at least $9.12! Not to mention the original bikini by Ottawa designer Julia [...] Blog Out Loud is the brainchild of Lynn, from Diary of a Turtlehead. This event, which will be taking place next Thursday July 23rd at Raw Sugar, brings together about 25 local bloggers who will each read one of their blog posts out loud. Out loud! With a microphone! While the audience LOOKS at them! [...] Poutine & Steamies GC and I found sitters for the pets and headed for the hills on Friday afternoon. We drove through Quebec along the winding, scenic 148, through the stinky town of Thurso, and then stopped at a casse-croute in Papineauville for a traditional supper of Steamies and Poutine.
